Luke Gaskell is the BSBI bontanical recorder for Peeblesshire, he is also attending the Merlindale Nature Festival this year and has visited us to carry out his survey of Merlindale's flora. We have just received the results of his survey carried out on the 6th of July and it includes some very exciting results. Luke found many species including lords and ladies and climbing corydalis which indicate that our woodland is an ancient woodland, in place since at least 1700. In total Luke recorded over 200 different species of plant across Merlindale's various habitats and below you'll find the excel file with the full plant list as well as a flora survey from September last year.
